My purpose was not to argue or offend but to inform. It’s not every day that you can get an honest response from a man who could care less about offending you or getting into your pants.

Trying to scare me with something I like (free time, peace and quiet) is a little silly.

It also ignores the fact that a man with money will not be alone unless he wants to be. Plenty of washed up divorcees are living alone in crappy apartments, with their moms. or in a prison cell. They have no choice but to be alone, nobody wants to be near them.

I have a lawyer friend who represents men in divorce cases and 2 uncles, a stepfather a half brother and maybe 10 other acquaintances who have been through the system.

One of my uncles has been in and out of jail for years because he has no hope of paying, his kids are entering their 30s. My stepfather had warrants for his arrest when we were growing up because his ex wife said he didn’t pay child support when he was paying her directly. He couldn’t visit his kids again because of the warrants, she told them he didn’t care. Never saw them again. My half brother is currently in prison.

Lawyer friend says most of the men she represents are screwed plain and simple, not a whole lot she can do for them.

Hell, I was helping the UPS guy unload some of my packages the other day and he casually mentioned that he’d been living in a van the past 6 months and how his ex was going after anything he cared about in the divorce just to spite him.

Sometimes a little solitude is not the worst possibility.

Just know that you don’t speak for all men, and that your anecdotal evidence is not supported by data. I know divorce lawyers too, and they describe a completely different environment. You go ahead and have the last word.
